About Bita Exploration and Production

The Field is located in the shallow offshore part of OML 95 in water depths of approximately 70 to 80 feet. The block was operated by Chevron Nigeria Limited (“CNL”) as a JV in which CNL has 40% stake and Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (“NNPC”) holds 60%. Other fields located in OML 95 include Meren, Parabe, Mesan, Shango, Delta, Ireti, Marun, Ororo and Meta.

The Field was discovered by CNL, with the drilling of Bita-1 from April 24 to June 9, 1969 as an exploratory well to a total depth of 9,202ft. The well encountered 5 hydrocarbon bearing sands and was subsequently abandoned as an oil and gas well.

Bita-2, drilled about 700 meters NW of Bita-1 from July 20 to November, 1991 appraised all the accumulations and penetrated additional 9 deeper hydrocarbon bearing sands.

DSTs were performed on 3 reservoirs encountered by Bita- 2well. Results from the test indicates that the J-6 reservoir flowed 2,913 stbpd with GOR of 1764 scf/stb, 44.9° API and flowing tubing pressure of 3389 psig. The H-5 reservoir produced 7.94 MMScf of Gas and 85.2 stbpd of 54.7° API condensate under flowing tubing pressure of 1855 psig. H-1 yielded 18.48 MMScf of Gas and 114.5 stbpd of 57.8° API condensate and flowing tubing pressure of 1520 psig. The Well was subsequently suspended.

The volumetric estimates of resources were carried out from the new depth maps produced using the deterministic method. The 2P+2C resource is estimated as 42.05 MMBO of Oil and 193.75 BSCF of Gas on the DPR now NUPRC (Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission) presented Competent Persons Report (CPR).

Bita Development

Agreement with Selective Marine for the utilization of Oritsetimeyin Rig has been reached. The re-entry of the Bita 2 well plus drilling of Bita 3 well is scheduled to commence about the second quarter of 2025 to achieve first oil.
